What Will Item Upgrading Be Like In 100 Years?

World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading

The upgrade of an item lets players boost the gear rating of an item by up to 700 points and add a bonus. Items can be upgraded if they are in your inventory and you bring them to the Kiln.

Certain items can be upp'd for their unique stats (like perfect rolled breakpoint armour used in melee PvP) while other items, such as weapons don't change much post upgrade and thus aren't worth upgrading.

Weapons

Weapons can be upgraded to increase their numeric stats, such as the chance to crit, attack damage, PvE and PvP damage. Weapons come with a flat-rate bonus that increases damage per second. A lot of weapons also have a fixed bonus which is activated when three or more identical weapons are placed in a unit. In some cases this bonus can add up to more than the amount of damage a weapon upgrades by itself.

A weapon's upgrade costs depend on the quality of the weapon and its current level. For example, an +2 weapon will require two standard Smithing Stones while a+3 requires four. The number of stones needed to upgrade a gun will increase until it requires more Smithing Stones. At that point it will reset to one.

Upgraded weapons can also alter their base stats. This is generally a positive thing, but it can also have negative effects. For items that only see use in a certain build (Whistant's shield for FB sorcs, for instance) upgrading them can render them useless unless you get a fortunate roll.

Upgrades can be made to armor items to improve their stats. This will increase the base defense of a helm or chest while belts and gloves can boost their strength and agility. Armor offers a rerolling option for its Enhanced Defense percent. This means that it may roll down to a lower value.

The upgrade template of a weapon will show the new stats it will gain after upgrading along with the relative value of those stats. This means that the weapon will gain 33% attack damage when it is upgraded from an 8 attack damage sword to an 11 attack damage sword. However, the 3% doesn't mean that it will strike for 3 fewer times as it is an absolute statistic.

Rerolling a weapon is possible by pressing the green button within the item menu using the arrows that are circling. This will roll the item and alter its stats, however, it will not reset the weapon's levels or bind to account status.

Armor

A few upgrades to your armor can make the world of difference to your survival. Certain sets offer massive improvements in the resistance to curses, poison fire, magic, and other. This can make it easier to navigate difficult terrains. The more defense your character has, the more value you will get from each point of health you possess, so it's important to improve your armor as often as you can.

To upgrade your armor, go to one of the Great Fairy Fountains in the game. There are four Great Fairy Fountains in the game and in order to unlock them all, you have to complete an additional quest involving the Stable Trotters. After you've completed your main quest, and the corresponding fountains, you can talk to any Great Fairy in order to unlock the menu for upgrading armor.

The amount of materials required to upgrade each piece of armor is different. You'll need anywhere from three Red Chuchu jellies and 10 Rupees to upgrade your first armor piece, and between five Rubies or 10 Fire-Breath Horns to upgrade the next one. The Champion Leathers, for example, can be upgraded to an increase of 5 defense rating, which will allow you to keep up in frigid environments with a lot of adversaries. The Snowquill Headdress, on the other hand, can be upgraded to +20 defense, which means you're able to survive a battle with friends.

Note that armor can't be upgraded in the same manner as weapons, so you'll want to concentrate on enhancing it to increase physical power if you're Warrior or Spell Power when you're Mage. It's also worthwhile to save your armor upgrades to use for armor you'll wear at the end of the game, like the Ring of Lightning and Spectral Shield, or the helmet you use for the final boss battle and the Monter Parts Merchant's mask.

By giving the jeweler 10 Twinkling Titanite in Gerudo Town, you can unlock perks for your armor. You'll typically want to keep these upgrades for the weapon that you'll use to win the game. For example the Longsword or Battleaxe. However, it's beneficial to have a few upgrades to the armor on your chest and helmets to let you get around a few monsters.

Potions

Potions are bottled substances that, when consumed, provide the user with a temporary status effect. There are five types of potions, each having specific effects and durations. Some potions can be upgraded to increase their level of effectiveness. In addition, the effects of some potions can be enhanced by adding glowstone dust or redstone to them.

Potion upgrades require a certain amount of XP. This can be obtained by making them on a table, or by storing them in the Alchemist chest. The price of upgrades will vary based on the kind of potion you wish to upgrade, as well as on the item's Mark Level and rarity.

To upgrade a potion, right-click it in your inventory. Then, select "Upgrade" from the menu. This will open an GUI which allows you to choose the potion that you want to upgrade and the amount of experience they'll offer when upgraded. Upgrading potions can be done in batches of up to five at a time and the XP they provide will be added to your current XP total.

Once a potion is upgraded in quality, it will not deteriorate until you take it out again or break the bottle in which it is stored. You can also change the name of the potion by clicking on it in your inventory.

Version 1.7.2 introduced a few changes to the mechanics of potions. Splash potions, for instance, now have a duration 0:08 instead of the 22.5 seconds shown on the hover display for the item. The potion table can now be made using four Wood Planks and two Glass. This allows it to be used by players in Survival and Bedrock. Contrary to Java Edition, Bedrock edition potions can't be mixed in cauldrons. This is the same for using a potion in the cauldron that is filled. This will drain the liquid, and then refill the bottle.

There are also lingering potions that are brewed using dragon breath and splash potions. Similar to lingering potions, the effect can be extended by adding redstone. The potion table has been rearranged to appear more like the Java Edition. New potions are also added, such as the potion of leaping and decomposition.

Trinkets

A trinket can be an ornamental item that is small, cheap or piece of jewelry.  item upgrading  may also refer to a piece of art or a decoration that serves a purpose but is not particularly important such as a tiny thimble. In some cultures, a trinket is a way to express affection or friendship between family members.

In addition to weapons, armor and potions, players are able to upgrade their trinkets. They can be upgraded by going to an upgrade vendor and paying the appropriate currency. Trinkets, unlike other items which can be upgraded can be exchanged at any time without losing stats.

The upgrade vendors are located in major cities and the capital of each zone, as well as in some instances in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets are available with gold, tokens, or fragments from a rare trinket.

Upgrading a trinket is an affordable alternative to buying an entirely new one. A player can upgrade a trinket with as little as 12 tokens. The new trinket will have the same level of base as the old trinket but it also comes with an additional bonus of 1% upgrade.

Trinkets can be upgraded when the old ones are not needed, allowing a player to increase their power and value over time. They can be traded between players and are a viable alternative to gold.

In general players should upgrade their most important items first. This usually means the best-in-slot items for their class, followed by their secondaries, and finally other pieces of gear that will not be replaced soon (for example, a ring or cloak). When choosing which items to upgrade players should consider the class's preferred stats. For example when Haste and Crit are the two most important stats for a tank, they should prioritize upgrading their helm, chest, shoulders, and belt.

Once they have become useless, trinkets can be upgraded to a higher level. The new trinket has an additional bonus of 1. However, a re-upgrade is likely to destroy the old trinket until it is salvaged using a Black Lion Salvage Kit or an additional salvage tool of higher quality. Upgrades to trinkets can be more expensive than other upgrades but still less expensive than purchasing new ones.
